Mr. Don Brinkerhoff is the Founder and Chairman/CEO of Lifescapes International, Inc. A graduate of Cal Poly in 1952 and recipient of the Fellows Designation from the American Society of Landscape Architects, Don is perhaps one of our nation’s most influential storytellers and landscape architects. He brings to the landscape design profession more than 50 years of study, work experience and worldwide travel including urban planning studies at the University of Madrid which was part of a three-year, around-the-world study tour taking him to exotic destinations which he has used as inspiration on many of our projects.

Don became a Fellow with the American Society of Landscape Architects in 1992, recognized for his outstanding body of work and for his overall contributions to the profession. For instance, he was the person who originated the terms “softscape” and “hardscape” to more easily distinguish plant materials from pools, walkways and walls.
“Leadership is about setting direction and inspiring people to come along. Our leadership team members are experts in their respective fields and, with years of experience, are able to continue to inspire, direct and design great things.”
