HomeAid's Achievements in 2011

Dec. 14, 2011 - Since founding the HomeAid Orange County, California in 1989 HomeAid America’s 19 chapters have completed 256 shelters in 13 states including the District of Columbia.  These facilities total approximately 1,725,000 square feet of space and cost in excess of $173 million, of which 49 percent has been donated by the industry.  More than 130,000 homeless Americans have been served in those facilities and each year the service providers offer 2.1 million bed nights to the homeless.  In addition, HomeAid supporters completed more than 125 Care Days sprucing up existing facilities.

In 2011 alone, HomeAid completed 25 shelters totaling 62,5000 square feet of space, and costing approximately $6 million.  These facilities contain 200 beds and increase the service capacity of the facilities by 73,000 bed nights per year.  Currently there are 26 facilities in the development pipeline for 2012 and beyond.
